Details
Katie Compton knows about winning World Cup cyclocross races, so Trek tapped that knowledge to design the Crockett 7. This lightweight aluminum rig has a ton of 'cross-racing features like an aggressive geometry, huge tire clearance, internal cable routing, and a flattened top tube for easy carrying. The carbon fork uses a custom sweep that adds comfort and compliance to the ride while still being laterally stiff to dissect the tight turns you see in a cross race. When playing in the mud, your gear better like it messy, so you've got a SRAM Force CX 1 x 11 drivetrain, Bontrager Affinity tubeless-ready wheels, and SRAM hydraulic disc brakes, all of which shrug off the muck with panache.
Trek's IsoSpeed fork is ingeniously engineered with reversed dropouts, increased fork rake (offset) and a constant, gentle curve beginning at the crown and sweeping all the way to the axle. These brilliant innovations allow the fork to absorb shocks rather than transmitting them to the rider for optimum comfort and energy savings, and they also increase the fork's lateral stiffness for more control.
